Bolas or Bolases or Boleadora (derived from the Portuguese word for Balls), is a throwing weapon, traditionally used by South American gauchos for hunting game.  This weapon consists of three weighted bolas on the ends of three interconnected cords.  When thrown precisely, bolas can easily entangle the legs of animals or your human enemies.
